Fig Jam

Here is another recipe from my book titled “Cookbook for Marysville” You can purchase this book directly from myself, with the funds going directly to the township of Marysville (The current recipient is the Christ Church Guild). The recipient of the funding will change as needs arise.

4 Pounds of Figs
½ Pint of Orange Juice
½ Pint of Water
4 Pounds of Sugar

Remove stalks from the figs, cut into halves, place in a pan with the orange juice and water.
Bring to the boil and cook until the fruit is soft.
Add the sugar slowly, bring to the boil and cook until a deep golden brown and when tested a little sets on a saucer. Allow to cool, bottle and seal.

(If you are smart, you'll get the figs from your neighbour!)
